Mel's Life: Bridal Shower Madness

One of my dearest boos is getting married in two weeks and this past weekend we threw her a bridal shower. I have been planning this shower since December/January and i'm glad that I can finally take off my psychotic event planner hat. If you know me then you know i'm a perfectionist. From hand painting the centerpieces and favors to creating drink umbrellas my DIY skills were put to the test. By DIY skills I mean my sanity...my sanity was put to the test lol. Add that on top of the fact that I had a raging fever and the flu. Although I did not get to do everything that I wanted to do for Lauren's shower I think it came out beautifully. I really wanted her to have something special since she is such a special person to me and deserves it.

A huge thank you to Kim, Arsiema, Ty, LP, and Janique for helping out!

Mel's Life: #TickledSpringSocial

Yesterday, I went to Nomad Yard for Tickle Photo Booth's Spring Social with my friend Maxi and had a great time. Lauren really threw an awesome event that brought creatives and entrepreneurs together under one roof. I cant wait until the next event.

A Night with Dior

On Thursday I went with Jess and Max to April's (MyDCStyle) fall preview event at the Dior Boutique in Chevy Chase! I must admit that I never really thought much of Dior. I thought Dior stood for gaudy and over the top a la the monogrammed saddle bag. But boy was I wrong!

All of the pieces were stunning and well constructed. I learned that M. Dior was not only an architect but an esteemed gardener as well. His love for both architecture and gardening are often referenced in the house's clothing. M. Dior believed the flower held the perfect silhouette and was once quoted as saying "I make flower woman".

I seriously lusted over everything I saw. Dior has won me over without a doubt. Once gain thank you April!  I thoroughly enjoyed the event.

I was clearly overwhelmed by all the lux and beauty. (LOL)
I wore a ZARA lace blouse, H&M pencil skirt, and I finally wore my Sam Edlemen shoes!

Estelle at the Park

I went out last night to go see Estelle at The Park last night with a couple of my friends. It would have been awesome If I actually caught the concert. LOL! I got a little antsy waiting for Estelle to hit the stage and I decided to leave. I've seen Estelle preform at my old job in DC so it wasn't a biggie to have missed the concert. According to LP she did about an 7-8 song set and it was lovely.  I stole LPs photos :)
