Mel's Life: New Old Camera

I got a new camera in June. I have been admiring mirrorless cameras since they hit the market. I liked that they were more travel friendly than a traditional DSLR camera and still took great images. As an amature "photographer" I did not need all the bells and whistles of a pro cam but I needed a step up from a point and shoot camera. I decided on the Samsung NX300. It is one of the best mirrorless cameras out. It takes clear and crisp images as well as HD video. I also love the design of the camera itself, its a modern take on a vintage camera. The only thing I wish the NX300 had is a view finder but the moveable touch screen display isn't bad at all. If you are in the market for a new camera but do not want a DSLR I'd highly recommend this camera.

Mel's Life: Another Day, Another DOKU Shoot

If you haven't checked out shopDOKU.com you should be ashamed of yourself because you are missing out on global awesomeness. DOKU brings talented indie designers from across the globe directly to you thus providing you with a wicked closet filled with goodies from all over the world.

This weekend I had the opportunity to watch my vision come to life as creative director/stylist for their SS15 shoot. I was inspired by bright colors, fruit, and summer time fun :) Here are a couple of BTS pics that I took as well as a preview from our awesome photographer.

Rihanna for Terry Richardson

Rihanna and Terry Richardson teamed up to produce these killer photos. The singer shows off her million dollar legs. Rihanna never misses a chance to rub her body in my face. LOL...le sigh to the treadmill I go.

Big things poppin!

This weekend I wrapped up a photo shoot with the lovely Jessica Detiege and my cousin Lovonne as the model. I did hair, makeup, and wardrobe. (lol...i know right)  I cannot wait to share the pictures with you all. It was a loooong day but it was filled with laughter and Popeyes!

Jessica has a gorgeous Canon 7D! I am having super duper camera envy. You all have to check her out on Twitter and visit her website. (It's currently under construction).

Villagegirlsboutique.com will soon be going live. I cannot believe it.

I'll be doing another photo shoot soon with my other good friend Lisa, of L3 style studio. Check out her website as well!
