That's Dope: Childish Gambino's Cover of Tamia's 'So Into You'

Tamia's So Into You is a bonafide 90's classic and the F-a-b-o-l-o-u-s remix as well. So I can't say that i'm surprised that Childish Gambino is a fan of the song because honestly its the ish. What I am surprised about is that voice. Whew...I got all the feels listening to this because he really captured the essence of the song and that's what makes this an amazing cover. I wouldn't mind Gambino dropping an R&B album, especially now as the world waits for Frank Ocean's return.

Last Thursday LP invited me to an R&B show at the Howard Theater and it was just what I needed. With everything that is going on in the world lately, my heart has been a little heavy and I wanted to vibe to some good music. When BOOMscat hit the stage my ears perked up. Their sound is mellow and sexy. Like, blast on Sunday morning clean up sessions sexy. Not only do they have a dope sound they are also fellow body roll enthusiasts (who doesn't like a good body roll?). My favorite song off of their current EP No Life Jacket is Private Show. Zoe Kravitz (aka my shero) fronts the indie band Lolawolf and they're serving killer electro-pop. Lolawolf is named after Zoe's two younger siblings Lola and Nakoa-Wolf. The band released their first album Calm Down last October and it has been on heavy rotation (word to Spotify). My favorite track off of the album is Jimmy Franco. Take a listen below ;)

My boyfriend introduced me FKA Twigs and I was not sold the first time I heard her I'll admit. However, the UK singer won me over with her song Two Weeks. This track has been on heavy rotation since I heard it. I also plan to see her preform in DC in November at the 9:30 club. Check out the track below.

President Obama along with Jimmy Fallon and The Roots took it upon themselves to slow jam the news and boy was it good. Student loan interest rates are set to raise and President Obama took an interesting route to convey his stance on the subject. This is just another reason why I love the POTUS he connects with young people so well. Check out the hilarious video below! (Ps. Who knew Black Thought could get down like that?)

Celebrity stylist June Ambrose is making her TV debut with her new show "Styled by June". The show airs on VH1 on March 19th at 9:30 PM EST/PT. The show focuses on June styling her celebrity clients. So that means we may get a glimpse of Mr. Sean Carter himself as June is Jay-Z's stylist. (dope!)
